Happy New Year! A quick break from writing computer code to let everyone know that new stuff is being added to the website every day. I wish I was out fishing on the Colorado River, but there isn’t enough water in the river. Wasting time is not an option, so I do a lot of work every day.
In addition to the dwindling Colorado River, the weather here in the desert has been out of the ordinary. It’s been raining, lightly, but with uncommon regularity. Not enough rain to do anything about the drought conditions, but more than usual. The stormy weather makes for spectacular desert sunrises.
The normally clear blue sky has been filled with clouds.
A couple days later, the weather changes completely and the desert is blanketed in thick patchy fog.
I went for a hike in the fog a couple hours before sunrise and it was dark. I had to stick to the road so I could follow the painted lines. With no early morning kayak fishing or mountain bike riding, a daily pre-dawn hike is the “move it or lose it” activity of the day.
That’s it for now. Check out ronbarbish.com, something for everybody, nothing for sale.
