I spend a little time in eastern Oregon from time to time. It’s a good place to work because it has good internet coverage and plenty of solar power for my computer. Solar power is not the only alternative energy source here.
Business taken care of, it’s back to the mountains for more bike riding. Some recent photos are below. For more about it, check out the blog post at watermanatwork.com.
When I get back from bike riding, I try to catch the Tour de France on the internet.
I’ve been working on more content for ronbarbish.com, but have taken a little break to do some ham radio stuff. There was a wildfire fairly close to here where roads were closed and the rural cell phone towers were overloaded with emergency traffic. A reminder to check out my ham radio gear. I have a 25w mobile radio and I just bought two handheld radios. In almost any emergency, communication is critical. Cell phones may not always work, but radios usually do. I think there will be more on this here or at watermanatwork.com.
Riding my mountain bike, programming and testing radios and writing blog posts, that’s about it. Check back soon.
