Site of the 1996 Centennial Park Olympic Games bombing on July 27, 1996 that killed one person and injured one hundred eleven others.
The Games continued under heavy police and military security.

A crappy photo of the Mountain Bike Park. Not much here because all the spectators were shuttle bussed in and out from Atlanta. It was the first Olympic Mountain Bike race. A good race in hot, humid weather. Tension was high because of the Centennial Park bombing.
