Ever since I hopped on a bicycle and rode away from my parent's house for the first time, I've been riding bikes.
About the time I started my business in Carlsbad, I started to ride bicycles a lot more, mostly to stay fit and get a break from the pressures of owning a business. Riding hundreds of miles a month, I wore out cheap bicycles pretty quickly.
I bought a Klein Quantum frame from Leucadia Cycles and, piece by piece as I could afford it, built a really nice bicycle with top of the line parts. I put a lot of miles on this bike.
When I moved to the Pacific Northwest, the riding continued. This is a great place to ride bikes. Riding up the mountains to the ski resorts was real bike riding. It is also real cold in December.

I had a Cervelo Soloist full aero race bike. Not really my style, but I got a good deal on it. A little hard putting fenders for wet weather on it, but a really fast bicycle.
In the mid 1980's mountain biking came along. My friend Don bought one of the first production mountain bikes, a Specialized Stumpjumper. After a few rides, we were all shopping for mountain bikes.
This opened a whole new world of bike riding and I rode my mountain bike for decades until I was physically unable.
